Great for a closet or grow tents
Spider Farmer Reflector R90 450W LED Grow Light is just 2.8 inches thick which means in small grow areas you will have more head room from growing taller plants. For example, if you are growing in a 60-inch-high tent and you need 18 inches of space between your plants and your light this leaves you with 38 inches of grow height with your plants. If you were to use a traditional incandescent HIP system the thickness of the unit would likely be around 8 inches and would require 24 inches of space between your plants. This would leave just 18 inches of vertical grow space for your plants.
The LED grow unit is designed to operate a grow area of 3.5 by 2 feet which is perfect for a small grow of around 4 plants.
The panel weighs just under 7 pounds and it comes with a hanging kit and power cord. MEIZHI recommends hanging the light between 12 and 30 inches above the top of your plants, depending on their growth phase.
Full spectrum led for healthy harvests
The 90 led lights cover a full 12-band range of the light spectrum for indoor growing. The red part has three 5W infrared (IR) bulbs which will appear dim even when they’re working. These bulbs can cause serious eye damage so don’t look at them even though they don’t look powerful and even better wear a set of approved grow glasses to protect your perfect eyes.
Besides IR, there are red bulbs in the 650-660nm range, blue (450-475nm), green (620-630nm), and white (5500-6500K). All these colors provide the equivalent of natural sunlight inside your grow op. This isn’t just a simple little growing lamp, but a professional level growing light fixtures.
The Spider Farmer Reflector R90 450W LED Grow Light comes with a vegetation/flower switch and with you select flower you will notices instantly that this unit provides extra red light to ensure great bud growth. Vegetation and flowering for indoor gardeners growing cannabis there is simple no better led technology.
The Spider Farmer Reflector R90 450W LED Grow Light is a strong PAR rating of 540.01 umol (micro mols). Par refers to the measurement of “photosynthetically active radiation,” and measures the effectiveness of the grow light to cause photosynthesis in your plants. Par values in higher end lights tend to reach around the 600umol mark so the Spider Farmer comes pretty close to that of higher end led panel without the price tag.
A bit hotter than other lights we’ve tested
We found one minor issue while testing the Spider Farmer. The built-in aluminum heat sinks and fans couldn’t seem to keep up with the heat generated by the unit as much as others we’ve tested. While the unit wasn’t burning hot I wouldn’t touch it with my bare hands. You will likely need to make sure you have fans and a good ventilation system in place to exhaust the extra heat generated by this unit. While the fans ran we found there to be very little noise generated I would say as loud as a conversation.
Warranty information – Long-lasting and covered by a warranty
The Spider Farmer Reflector R90 450W LED Grow Light lasts up to 100,00 hours of operation. That’s a hell of a lot of 16 hour grows. You’ll never kill this light, you’ll be looking to upgrade to a larger light farm before you are ever needing to replace the light due to issues. Spider Farmer Reflector provides a 30-day money back guarantee and 3 months of free repairs. Not a great warranty when compared with some other units that we’ve reviewed.
